Title: Melrose

My father was born in a house called "Melrose" in September of 1936.  His birth record says "Melrose, Churchdown, Glos.  I did look up the 1909 Hereditaments and it is listed as #553  GA/D2428/1/12  map reference 26.13B

I'm wondering if the house still stands and if there is any way to get a current pic if it does.

Not answering your query but, The house is mentioned quite a bit in online newspapers before 1936 .  It appears to have been sold in 1935 along with houses called Zannetta and Dunrobin by a Mr F C Newhall of Hucclecote

I suspect my grandparents were tenants at Melrose.  in 1939 mt grandfather re-enlisted in the army and the family relocated to Bristol.

Per those 1935 auction details, Melrose was next to another, older, detached property known as Draggetts Court.

Googling "Draggetts Court" takes us to 3 Chapel Hay Lane. You can see that the houses either side are still standing:

So far, no.  The 1911 enumerators list wasn't any help. The electoral rolls for the area seem to be ordered by name rather than location. Persons listed in the 1939 Register before and after Joe Champion at Draggetts Court are difficult to find in the electoral rolls.

Using this link and moving to opposite the house on the right I can see the name Melr on a panel to the left of the front door if you zoom right in.
