              The definition of a broker

Broker = Essentially a salesman or middleman to a supplier for arranging sales. ie broker of clothes etc

If I understand you correctly, someone who acted as a go-between, between the manufacturer (tailor/dressmaker) and the shop. He himself neither made the clothes, nor acted as shopkeeper?
