I've been adding some details of the graves in Monaseed to the Wexford section of cmc-project... mostly more modern burials. Maher, Breslin/ Brislawn, Smyth, all of Slievebawn.

There's a great book I bought in the local museum, which covers Craanford, Monaseed, Hollyfort, Rossminogue, Killnahue, Knockbrandon and Mount Saint Benedict cemeteries - quite a few typing errors, but most useful.

Nuala

the book is A4 80 pages called
"inscriptions on Memorials of the Dead at Craanford, Monaseed, Hollyfort, Knockbrandon, ..... "
I bought it in a little museum opposite Craanford Church for about 6 euro - it's published by a local group  - contact
Treasurer, EXPLORE group,
c/o Post Office, Craanford,
Gorey, Co Wexford

There are quite a few typo errors in it (mostly small), but it's a great starting point.

there are 2 Dunn/Dunne graves
Bryan and Bridget of Sleebawn (there's a new stone there to this family with some others of the family)
Patrick, Johanna and John of Clonmona and Connahill

there are 6 Maher Graves
one of these mentions James Dunne of Conna Hill died 1987

I've transcribed some of the graves in Monaseed for the CMCproject

Hi Eadaoin
Thank you so much for your reply. My grandfathers name was James Dunne I am going to send of for the book as I live in Kent England. I know my grandfather and his family came from Crannaford Monaseed.  Once again Eadaoin thank you so much and if you need to find anyone in England let me know and I will have a look for you.

regards Nuala

Hi Karen

CMC seems to have disappeared.

However, the following link to IGP should work

http://www.igp-web.com/igparchives/ire/wexford/photos/tombstones/wexford-monaseed/index.html

... I've only got about one-third of the headstones done, but I hope to have them finished in-or-around Christmas.
