Hi there,

Do you know any details of his parent's names or what part of Roxburghshire he was born in?  This may help narrow things down.  Also, have you tracked him down on any of the census records?

I tried a 'free' search on Scotlandspeople but nothing obvious and ddidn't have any credits to dig any deeper.
