Looking at the original in 1901, do you think her name is Tillie, which is short for Matilda?
I found a couple of children for a Marshall Stonehouse and Matilda Patience Locke.
Karen

-
Hilda must have died as she is not on the 1901
-
Re: 1901...Yes that is it, as I can see that it is Ew, not Uv...
An the written "L's" on the page don't match...they are all straight, but this is a bit more curved....so Karen to the rescue once again!!!!
You will have to notify them once you confirm this so that they can make those changes...
Here is Marshall with family in 1871

Yes, looks like poor little Hilda died when she was 6 months old in 1897 from Inflamation of the Lungs. They have her birth place listed as Scarborough, Ontario (where I was born) which is basically Toronto now.
Still looking for a marriage....

Sidetracking a little...
The Thomas Stonehouse that died in Vancouver in 1963, do you know what his parents names were and was he born in Ontario?
Karen
-
His father was Christopher Stonehouse b England and Mother was Mary Alice Talkington b England. Thomas was born in England. When he went to Canada in 1929 he went to Ontario. He went to stay with a rellie but can not read who it is. Hence my quest to find out who.
-
The Thomas you found today had the parents Matthew and Elizabeth. These were Vancouver Thomas's 2x G grandparent's. Elizabeth was Elizabeth Harrison but the Brown's may not have Known that. Boyer could have been his wifes name.
-

The problem I have is if this is the right one i have him in The Lythe Parish Regester as: Volume 10 Baptism
20 May 1828 Thomas s Matthew & Elizabeth Stonehouse of B lab
This Elizabeth is Elizabeth Harrison not Boyer.
Thomas Stonehouse born May 1927 in the 1911 says he's widowed and he came to Canada in 1908. Lodger with the Brown family.
Karen
How can i find out if the Brown's are related to Thomas? I am guessing they are as i can not see an 80yr old leaving England to start a new life in Canada.

My Computer room is covered in papers with Stonehouse's. Just trying to work out who goes where.
I found Thomas Stonehouse age 22 Farm Laborer and Mary age 21 in the 51 UK census but can not find him in 61 & 71 UK. Looks like you found Mary's Death so am pretty sure that is him in 81 & 91 Canada. As Mary and Thomas seem to have married in 49 i Think Thomas may be their Older son as William appears with them on 81 in Canada. Now to find his Birth in Eng.
