Hi there,

I ran a search at www.familysearch.org on the IGI.  There is a birth for a Euphem STEEDMAN on 7th Feb 1790 in Kinross, with parents William Steedman and Janet Hay.  However, there are some more listed for around the same time in the neighbouring counties of Fife and Perthshire, so it may be one of those.

Have you managed to find Euphemia and James' wedding details?  If its before 1855, I'm not sure if the parents would be listed there, but it might be worth a shot.

I have also noticed that there are some threads on other message boards (not rootschat) from searcher looking for the same info.  If you put STEEDSMAN and KINROSS into google and search, you will find the link.

Cheers,
Clare

Many thanks for that.  What I thought was perhaps somewhere there may be a "list" of town officials of Kinross.  I am currently trying to track Euphemia Steedman MARTIN most likely in Forfar on the 1851 Census at Scotland's People but without success.  Fingers crossed if I find her her husband James will still be alive.
