Jill. I agree with Fitty, it looks like Printer Reeler - whatever one of those is.  Could you post a bigger section of the page so we can see some other examples of the writing?  May make more sense then perhaps.

I guess the name of this chap is David Richardson from the jpg name, could you post the image of the name that would help to see if it is a "d" or "l" in the second word.

Cheers,
Pam

It is fairly surely  Printer Feeder. A boy pre-apprentice would have the task of replenishing the paper in the feed pile of a printing press.

Thanks all of you.   I think I agree with Hackstaple but here is a larger image (I hope!)

The 'F' in Boot Finisher & 'd' in many of the Leeds do point to the occupation being Printer Feeder.

The place name - I agree with Chris. It is Moseley or Cheadle Moseley in Cheshire.

Thanks to chris 1066land and hackstaple for the birthplace, it threw me a bit as on the 1881 lds census her birthplace was Worsley, but her brother who lived with them was born Macclesfield. I can understand how the LDS got it as Worsley .

no off in another direction, no wonder i couldnt find her birth in Worsley !!

ta very much chucks ! ;D

Thanks again to all.   Now, what about his 16 year old sister?   What sort of printer do you think she was?   It was the same enumerator, i.e. same handwriting as larger image above.

Jonew - I agree with Chris.

Stamper printer? The capital S is the same as in the first example although the enumerator uses two different styles.
