Hi Lesley,

I don't believe that they these Hills are mine as there were two or three Hill families in the area. (My Hill's seem to be hiding!!) However I shan't discount them just in case!

Thanks for looking anyway!

Regards,

David

Hi Lesley

Just found this website and am hoping you can help me. I had a relative from Hawick that is perhaps buried in Eccles. He is James Leithead who died 1872-10-20. The rest of the family emigrated to Canada in the late 1890's but there is another family - brother to James. He was William Leithead B.1838 and in 1891 was living at Wilton with his wife Margaret and family. Also an John, Robert & Wm. Aitken, all unmarried in their 70's in 1881 as well as their sister Elizabeth Gilchrist.  Any help will sure be appreciated. Thank you.  Catherine

My maternal ggg grandfather was William Armstrong, married in Kelso in 1812, and I've managed to get a whole lot of information back to this date with the help from notes in our family bible written by my grandfather, but I've pretty much exhausted all the research I can do online. So any information you could give would be of great help

There are a lot of names in my tree with associations with Yetholm & Eccles, so hope it's not too much to ask;

Wiliam & David Armstrong, & Jean Wilson in Eccles.

Also William & Christopher Tait, plus a whole lot of Armstrongs (Adam, David, John, Mary, Peter, Robert & William) in Yetholm. I thought you might look kindly on my request, as you also research Armstrongs, & so must know they seem to breed like rabbits in the Borders!

Let me know if you need DOBs to narrow your search - not sure how you have your data stored & how  much there is!

Thanks in advance, Graeme

Hi Graeme

could you give me an idea of birth date for your Jean wilson eccles please.

Im afraid as far as the Armstrongs & Taits go there are plenty of them but not the christian names you are after.

Hi Lesley, thanks for this - seems your busy with requests!

'My' Jean was born 31 Jul 1712 - and married 13 May 1740, also in Eccles if that helps.

Her parents were George Wilson and Isabel Burn, no other information on these other than names.
