Title: Hutton/Beveridge
Post by: colvin on Sunday 26 March 06 20:33 BST (UK)
My late mother-in-law, Euphemia Hutton Beveridge Morgan, was born in Carnock in 1916.   Her mother was Isabella Hutton so it is feasible that her grandmother was Euphemia Beveridge. probably born mid 1800s.  Has anyone come across this name?

Thanks, Audrey.  I think maybe they were born earlier than I had worked out. The next piece of the jigsaw is to see if either of these ladies married a Hutton and then take it from there.

Hi Colvin,

I put Euphemia Hutton (nee Beveridge) into
http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk and there was 1 result of a death cert between 1855-1955 and it was in Fife. Hope that helps with the puzzle.

Melissa.

I have a Hutton or two in my people from Carnock and Cairneyhill. However, these were in the early  1800's. Is this of any interest to you?

Thanks Malmo
I'm not sure that your Huttons would be of help.   I'm very much in the dark at the moment as my husband doesn't know much about his mother's family.   I now know his mother was born in 1916 in the village of Comrie in the Parish of Culross and his grandparents were also married there in 1904.  His grandmother was Isabella Hutton and was probably born around 1880.  What I have found out is that there are numerous Huttons and Beveridges in Fife and that Euphemia seems to have been a polular name.  However, many thanks for your offer of help and I may come back to you in the future.    Colvin

Hello Colvin,

Since I joined RootsChat I have written many postings aout the Fife familes and they include many Beveridges. Each day I post about three histories of various families and I'm truly amazed at just how many families around the world are connected in some way to my own.

Maybe a look through my postings, (TOMMACGREGOR), may assist you.

Kind Regards,

Tom.

Tom, thanks for your interest.  I, too, am amazed at the number of Beveridges in the Fife area.   I shall have a look at your postings and see if there are any connections.

Norrie, I think you have struck gold.  I know Isabella had a brother Charles and sons , Charles and Archibald plus a daughter, Euphemia.  It all ties in.   I am grateful for your input and shall now try and delve a little further.

Thank you both for your help.

Colvin

Hello Again,

If you look at postings, you will see that there are many connections to other families through the Beveridges. If I can be of any help in any way, then I will be delighted to post you some answers.

Kind Regards,

Tom.

Hi everyone, I understand that you will probably find that I am contacting this area 10 years in the future...!

Anyways, regarding Colvin's Euphemia Hutton Beveridge question - I have a similar one.
My Grandfather is Euphemia's son, and we were hoping to figure out who his father (my great Grandfather was).

He has told us that she married a John Morgan, who she had two children with.
After countless tries, I can't seem to find a John Morgan from the Oakley/Comrie/Dunfermline area. He tells us that his father was a, and I quote, "crook"  ;D, so perhaps there might be some prison/police records? - Can't find much on Scotland's People, though.

I've tried looking for marriage records - still nothing. Is there any chance that anyone is aware of/knows of a Mr. John Morgan from this area?

Thanks
Jezebel
