Looking for Joseph Morris born 1816 in LLangarron, hopfully still with his parents in the 1841 census as he didn't marry until 1845. He was a Tailor.
In 1851 he could have been in Wiltshire as he had a child born at St Pancras Wiltshire in 1851 but not sure if before or after the census. Other children born before 1851 are Alfred 1846 Llangarron, George 1848 Llangarron, His spouse was Elizabeth (?James) also a Tailor, born Rockfield Monmouthshire.
I have the family in the 1861 census in the parish of Whitchurch Herefordshire.
Any help at all is greatly appreciated

I don't think you've seen the original image for the 1861 census, the birthplace for Henry actually reads Middlesex, St Pancras, not Wiltshire.
1851
11 Diana Place, Regents Park, St Pancras, Middlesex
Joseph Morris Head M 34 Tailor Herefordshire
Eliza Wife M 29 Monmouthshire
Alfred Son 5 Herefordshire
George Son 3 "
HO107/1493 Pancras Regents Park Folio 747 Page 75
This name has been transcribed incorrectly as Joseph Mortes and somebody has suggested an alternate name on Ancestry of Morris - it reads Morris to me too. But this would suggest that somebody else has searched for this family and made the amendment.

Thanks for the info MaryA and Susan.
Just a couple of questions though.
Is the place definitely Tretilla in the 1841 census, i can only find a Tretire which is in Herefordshire not far from Llangarron were he was born.
Does the census say wether Elizabeth and William Bevan were married or just brother and sister as the only marriage i have at the moment is Joseph Morris and Elizabeth James in 1845 which is the right year for the first child in 1846 but if Elizabeth Bevan is single she could be the Elizabeth he married, but i supose the best way to solve that will be to get a birth certificate of one of the children.
The census hasn't solved the problem of his parents though and his Christening doesn't seem to be in the IGI (not at Llangarron )
Cheers

Hi Eddie,
Definitely says Tretilla. Did a google search and came up with Tretilla, Llangarren :) The surname could be Beavan there's a squiggle which could be an 'a'!
The 1841 census doesn't give relationships. I looked 1851 for William Bevan/Beavan, Tailor, but didn't find him. The birth certificate of one of the children would help.
