Can anyone tell me the parents of Rev John Trelawny-Ross D.D. of Ham Plymouth Died 1935. I believe he had a son Rev. William Edwin Trelawny-Ross died 1962.
ANY extra info on these two people would be much appreciated.

Try searching the BMD Images at ancestry. (free at the moment).

Vesta,
West Devon Record Office have a number of papers in their collection. Search to find out what they have available here:
http://www.a2a.org.
You may be able to order copies or get someone to do some research for you if you are unable to get there yourself.

Thank you v. much for the replies. I am still uncertain of the maiden name of the wife of John T. Trelawny-Ross, she was Mary Frederica Cecilia.Their son was Rev William Edwin Trelawny-Ross again a problem with the wife.
I have these unconnected people at present
John Tre.-Ross
Wilfreda Tre.-Ross--- living 1963
David Tre.-Ross
C.P. Tre.-Ross
Does any of this fit with others research?

Hi
FreeBMD: John Trelawny Ross married Mary Frederica C Digby
Mar qtr, 1894, Newton A. Vol 5b/177
Have you seen them on the censuses yet? In 1891 Rev Trelawny-Ross is writtten down as a widower.
He is born in Ireland (lucky you! :D). Mary Frederica is born in Germany, a British Subject.
Cheers

FreeBMD: John Trelawny Ross married either Emma Mary K Bassett or Agnes Fry
Sep qtr, 1881, Cardiff, Vol 11a/335
That fits, because his 4 children were born in Glamorgan.

Check out the 1881 Census for Wales: RG12/5288/55/25
FreeBMD: Emma Mary K Ross died Mar qtr 1887, Christchurch, Hampshire, aged 28
... and that fits too, because in 1891 Rev John and the children were living in Hampshire
:)

Many thanks for your help.

Just in case you don't already have them:
1891 RG12/904/31/15
"Gormendel", Holdenhurst, Bournemouth, Hampshire
John T Ross, head, widr, 38, Clerk in Holy Orders D.D. b. Ireland
Maria T Ross, dau, 8, b. Glamorgan
William E T Ross, son, 7, b. Neland, Glamorgan
Alexander H Ross, son, 6, b. Neland, Glamorgan
Caroline S Ross, dau, 5, b. Neland, Glamorgan
+ a domestic nurse, cook, parlourmaid and nursery maid
1901 RG13/2063/64/1
Vicarage, Paignton, Devonshire
John T Ross, head, 48, Priest of the Church of England, b. Ireland
Mary F C Ross, wife, 47, b. Germany, British Subject
Mary T Ross, dau, s, 18, b. Llandaff, Glamorgan
Stephen M T Ross, son, 6, b. Paignton, Devon
Addis E T Ross, dau, 5, b. Paignton, Devon
Katherine L T Ross, 3, b. Paignton, Devon
+ a domestic nurse, cook, house parlour maid, nursemaid,
Lord knows where Neland is, but that is definitely what is written.
The other thing is that I cannot find any of the children from the first marriage in 1901 - I've looked in both England and Wales. Perhaps they were taken to Ireland ... or somewhere ...
Good luck!
:)
Edited: Oooops!
- to correct a mistake, and add the daughter I'd missed out - the only one from the first marriage still with her father (Mary T) in 1901.

Koromo.
Great-- you have been an ernormous help--- the 2 marriages caused me many problems-- I think I have it now. I was trying to see a census--- is there a free way to see a census because Ancestry always kicks in & wants money.
Thanks Vesta

You can see both the England and Wales census for 1881 for free both on Ancestry and FamilySearch. All the others need a paid subscription.
However, feel free to enquire on these RootsChats boards and ask for a look up. Just remember to give as much information as you can - particularly with double-barrelled names like yours. It's tricky sometimes trying to work out which name to look under!
Best wishes

1901 RG13/2008/67/57
School House, Sherborne, Dorset
William E T? Ross, boarder, 17, pupil b. Ireland
This is only a possible, but it looks likely - he's in a Church of England school. The T (for Trelawny) is not clear - I thought it was a G, could be a J, or it could just be a very carelessly written T.
Cheers

This web page seems to indicate who might be John Trelawny-Ross' parents

That's a good idea Jorose. I found one or two as well:
The Times, Thursday, Nov 23, 1871; pg. 13; Issue 27228; col A
In Chancery ... particularly described situate in the parishes of Pilton Croscombe and Shepton Mallet in the county of Somerset comprising 222 acres 2 roods 37 perches of therabouts and being part of the estates by the will of the testator William Provis Wickham deceased devised to his son William Provis Trelawny Wickham and the Reverend Charles Collins Trelawny ...
This is an interesting name:
Cecile Charlotte Trelawny d'Estampes, eldest daughter of Viscount d'Estampes, who married William Hankey in 1852 Brighton (Sep qtr Vol2b/318)
:D
