Hi yonderpeasant,
Thankyou for the 1841 Census information. Thomas DUNN must have died and Hannah remarried. I did not know that and now have another line to persue. Would you be able to have a look in 1851 Census please for Hannah FLETCHER and family? Mary DUNN married James POTTER in 1844 at Handsworth, Stafford and moved to Birmingham where they raised a family. Appreciate your help.

Hi yonderpeasant,
Thankyou again. The 1851 census information very much appreciated too. I do have details of Mary and James POTTER and family. Where were William and Hannah and family living in 1851? Who was Dorothy DUNN's employer next door? Do William and Hannah and family appear in 1861 Census? I have been searching the 1881 Census but have not found any trace yet.

Probably DOROTHY was housekeeping for one of mine-NATHANIEL HUNT -they had their first son THOMAS DUNN HUNT in 1852 -and are on later census as husband/wife, but as yet I have to locate a marriage (if there was one!) for them. They went on to keep farms-and their children followed in their footsteps -most of their children were called Dunn Hunt -except for son Samuel who was Samuel Fox Hunt!!!!!!!

Hello suzard,
That is great news. I have another line to explore! I have now found Dorothy and Nathaniel Hunt and sons Samuel and Eleener (?) living at Quelgreaves Farm House, Shipley, Derby in 1881 Census (RG11 3325/3 Page No 3). Are you able to provide me with the names and dates born of their other children please?
Thankyou.

Hi Printer,
Their children were:
THOMAS DUNN HUNT 1852
HENRY HUNT 1853
DOROTHY DUNN HUNT 1856
EBENEZAR 1859 (ELEENER OF 1881!)
ISAAC HUNT 1859
SAMUEL FOX 1864
NATHANIEL 1868
1881 my grandfather was a servant at "Quelgreaves farm-actually called Oldgreaves. Name of farm changed over years -Oldgrave Owlgrave -1854 described as ancient farmhouse, seat of a branch of the Lowe family. There is still a farm on the site today-now called Algrave Hall farm.
The Fletcher connection is of interest -in early 1700's the Fletcher family the builders of Heanor hall ,(made their money from coal mining) built a number of "soughs"-channels to drain the mines-one was Oldgrave Sough!
If you want to PM me with your e mail I can send you what I have on the Hunt family-have little info on the Dunns -but there are Dunns living today in the same area as Dorothy lived in 1851!!!! Same road!!!

Hello Harryo,
Thank you for your reply.
Goodness, I will need to refresh the memory, this was an old posting. I will check my folder and get back to you. So far as I can recall though, the marriage entry for Hannah Dunn and William Fletcher was not found, but possibly it's available now? That would be wonderful to have. Regards.
