Please can you help find some 1841 to 1901 Census details for Ambrose Brazier’s parents and family?
Also, is it possible to find any Army details on him?
AMBROSE BRAZIER
Born 14th June 1905 Furneux Pelham, Hertfordshire England
I’ve been told that Ambrose and his father* were both MALTSTERS at the local brewery in Furneux Pelham.
Ambrose had sisters and he was in the ARMY during WW2?
Sorry I don’t have any more details on Ambrose Brazier.
BMD details:

Hello Alli and Peter, many thanks for all your search results on my Ambrose & Brazier families.
I can see now where the brewing & maltster side comes from.
There are quite a few Ambrose & Brazier's to follow now, ahhhh! It's a great hobby, interest and way to learn about ones history isn't it.
A little more help required - if possible please?
I would like to know:
1. What happend to Mary Ann Ambrose aged 8 from the 1851 census & is she on any other censuses?
2. William Ambrose aged 55 agr\lab on the 1841 (could he be father to John Ambrose aged 20), is he on any more censuses as father or widower?
3. Also, is the 1871 census available for my Ambrose & Brazier families;

Hi Jed,
The IGI records the baptism of John Ambrose s/o William and Elizabeth at Buckland on 03 Mar 1816. In addition the same couple baptised the following ...
Elizabeth 17 Jun 1804 - William 02 Mar 1806 - Mary 01 Nov 1807 - James 12 Nov 1809 - Sarah 18 Dec 1811 - Anne 12 Jun 1814 - Edward 23 Aug 1818.
I would mention that I found James and family at Chipping in 1841/51/61 but none of the others. If you want details I can supply.
The Hertfordshire Burials Index for 1800-1850 records the following entries for Ambrose at Buckland. ....
Elizabeth age 47 03 Feb 1824 - Edward age 22 17 Jul 1840 - Mary age 29 31 Jul 1845 - William age 67 29 Dec 1845.
Sorry I can't help with 1871.

Hi,
My AMBROSE family history include the AMBROSES you have mentioned ie Frederick & Eliza, John & Sara, James & Mary - did you get answers to the questions you asked?
-
Hi
I am a direct descent of the AMBROSE families from Chipping Buckland and I do not think they are related to you. In my opinion you would do better to follow the BRAZIER connection and regard Ambrose as just a christian name the family used.

Hi "metome",
WELCOME to Rootschat.
You obviously have information which leads you to an opinion that looking at the surname "Ambrose" will be a waste of Jed's time (and that of Rootschatters currently assisting). Please share it with us?
Cheers!
