Can I find out the parent's names of my John McCrohon by finding baptismal record? Religion: most probably R.C.
All the details we know of around that time is:
John McCrohon was born in May 1795 at St. John's Parish, Limerick, Ireland.
Father's name unknown MCCROHON
Mother's name: possibly Margaret unknown
Sibling: William MCCROHON born January 1807 (locn. unknown definitely Ireland) ... came to Australia with his brother.
Facts: John McCrohon married Amelia (Emily) Du Croix C1826, they had 4 children (firstborn Portugal, then next three born in England), then emigrated to Australia C1833 and had five more children, one of whom was my gg grandmother. John McCrohon was part of the 4th Regiment of Foot. The McCrohon family is well documented.
Any details whatsoever gratefully received. Thank you, Allycat, Queensland, Australia.
