The Thomas family were living at Brynwicket farm in 1871 & 81. I am hoping to find them still there in 1901. William Thomas should be 62 and his eldest son Thomas would be 32...I assume the other 8 children would have left as William 25 and John 27 were both Drapers in London at this time. Jim

Hi Jim
I was pretty stuck with 1901, so I looked back at 1881 (helpful to post this info if you have it)
1881 census
RG11/5378/76/1
William THOMAS H M 42 - farmer of 123 acres - Llanon (dittoed for all below)
Mary W M 38
Margaret 15
Hannah 13
Thomas 12
Griffith 10
David 9
John 7
William 5
Daniel 4
Joseph 9 months
Brynwicket Farm, Glyn, Llanon
Then I tried to find them in 1891 - and came up with this - what do you think?
RG12/4495/129/18
William THOMAS H M 52 - general labourer - Llanon (dittoed for all below)
Mary W M 48
William son 15 - tin plate worker
Joseph son 11 - scholar
Gomer son 9 - do
Efar son 7 - do
Address: Upper Andrew St, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire
Will have another look for 1901 now.
kind regards, Arranroots ;)

This would seem to be them:
RG13/5089/96/18
William THOMAS H M 60 - grainsman in brewery - Llanelly (dittoed for all below)
Daniel son U 23 - assistant schoolmaster
Gomer son U 18 - assistant in boot shop
Ivor son U 16 - draper's apprentice
Address: 68 Andrew St, Llanelly, Carmarthenshire
Not sure where Mrs THOMAS has taken herself off to!
A ;)

That's fascinating...many thanks for the speedy replies. If this is the same family...and all the dates do make it seem so...then they certainly changed circumstances between 1881 and 1901. Thanks again...Jim
