Title: Howard - Emigrated to Canada
Post by: becca.morgan on Wednesday 10 May 06 18:22 BST (UK)
Hi,

I'm trying to trace some relatives who emigrated to Canada, somewhere between 1925 and 1950. Sorry I can't be very specific with dates! Its probably after 1935, and soon after that, but I can't be sure.

Their names were:
Olive Howard born 1897 Norfolk, England
Sydney (?) Howard Born England (Known as Sid, no spelling)

and their son

Alec Howard born England

They emigrated to Saskatchewan, with Olive's younger brothers:

Eric Hagan born Norfolk
Charles Hagan born Norfolk

Charles and Eric came home soon (ish) afterwards, all I know is that Eric came home in time to get married and have a son in 1942.

Thanks,

Becca

Becca,

If you go here:

http://findaperson.canada411.ca/

and do a search on Alec Howard in "All Provinces", you'll get one in Saskatchewan and one in Alberta.

It might be worth a try to phone or write to them both.

Regards,
Josephine

http://www.ourroots.ca/e/page.aspx?id=2881746 - photo labelled 'Alec and Sid Howard'

http://www.ourroots.ca/e/page.aspx?id=2882038 - starting this page, a lot of info on Sid and Olive and son Alex; they actually immigrated 1924.  Includes details of Alec's marriage and his three children, and details on the deaths of Sid and Olive.

After checking with a relative, that's definitely right! That is absolutely brilliant, and explains why we lost contact in 1970. (Olive's death)

Will try and contact either Alec or his son.

Thank you so much!
