Many thanx Ellen for your kind offer,
all the info i have is from an old memoriam card
it says"
Interred in Sighthill cemetery
and at the at the bottom of the card"
1 Kildonan Terrace, Ibrox, Glasgow
this might be an old street name???? back in 1909
thanx
Michael
I found a Sighthill cemetery in Springburn Glasgow, that might be the one but I'm not sure, only going by what is says on the card, the card might have been made in a shop etc in 1 Kildonan Terrace, Ibrox, Glasgow and my Gt Gt Uncle is buried Sighthill cemetery in Springburn Glasgow?????
let me know what you think??
-
Sighthill and Ibrox are on almost opposite ends of the City.
Sighthill cemetery is in the North in Springburn and Ibrox in the South West in Govan
-
yes you are right,i think the best thing for michael to do would be to contact cardonald or craigton cemeteries they are the only ones i know that are within ibrox area.

Mike,
Sorry for the delay in replying.
I don't know if this would be where No. 1 would be. I have tried to enlarge the photo, unfortunately I can't make out the writing above the shop window.
This picture is available at www.mitchelllibrary.org
Maybe someone more familiar with the area could assist.
Best of luck,
Cammy

Is there anyone availe that could check for a gravestone. John Robin Lindsay was interred into Sighthill Cemetery, his usual residence was 1 Kildonan Terrace, Ibrox nothing to do with the cemetery.
Thanks

Hi Michael,
I just had a look on FamilySearch under Sighthill cemetery and John Lindsay is definitely buried there! Details are as follows:
John Lindsay, cousin of William Drummond
Address: 1 Kildonan Terrace, Ibrox
Date of Death: 21st April 1909
Date of Burial: 23rd April 1909
Age: 39
No. of Lair: 1
Class number: 7
No. of script: L729
Name of lairholder: The Executive of The Scot's Grey's Association
There are also two other columns that state No: 6 & Class: W - these are just before John's age so may pertain more to his description rather than the burial plot.
It's still worth waiting for the info from the crematoria as I'm not sure whether the above details give any reference to which part of the cemetery the lair is in...someone else may be able to offer advice on that!
Not sure if this will work but here is the link to the image:

Kind regards,
Andrea
