Hi all. From what I can gather Fair Isle is administered by Shetland?
I was hoping somebody can help me in the right direction to find some info on some MacDonalds from there c1900,that went to England by 1949 but possibly went back again post 1949.
Any links /resources greatly appreciated.

Fair Isle is actually now totally owned by the National Trust. I could be wrong, but I don't think the Shetland Council has anything to do with administering it. However, having said that, I would think that Shetland libraries and museums would be a good first place to search out historical and genealogical information from Fair Isle. I believe there was also a bit of movement from Fair Isle to the north isles of Orkney (Sanday, Stronsay).

Hi Gazza:
One of my Grandmothers came from Fair Isle. I think if you google
Genuki + Fair Isle, you might find some information on Fair Isle. If you have forenames for your Macdonalds, suggest you look on Bayanne. Good Luck.
