Title: Trouble seeing pictures
Post by: polly on Tuesday 26 October 04 18:21 BST (UK)
Hi. I was wondering if someone can help me when I go to a site to look for photographs my computer  quite often does not allow them to come up. Could this be because of my antivirus  or what. Would appreciate any help.

Its unlikely that your anti virus program is blocking the images although if you are using the latest update to Internet Explorer Browser this may be blocking some of the images.(as could a firewall)
Check that show images is ticked in tools/internet options/advanced also try checking the pop up blocker .....its unlikely but worth checking.

Polly,

Does a little red cross in a white box appear instead of the images?

Presuming you are using microsoft products the following page from their knowledge base holds a resolution for this problem

You could always try Right Clicking your mouse over the picture and go to Show Picture.

what site was it?

I get a little red cross on some sites.  What should I do?

The little red cross just means means that the picture is not at the given address.

Either the picture has been deleted from the site and they have forgotten to delete the link
or,
the picture is somewhere else on the site and they have forgotten to update the link
(a bit like moving house and forgetting to tell the Postie the new address !)

There is nothing you can do about it,  as it is a site problem !

So, relax, it's not your problem, it's SEP !

but if it's important to you, contact the site to report a defect link (many sites have a special link for this)
