Hi Harriet,
Have a M.I for Kelso dated 1993 , if off any use.
-
Thanks Becky for your reply he died in the 1850's Cheers Harriet ;D
-
Name please
-
Hi again Andrew Murdison Thanks Harriet :o
-
Hi Harriet,
There is no Murdison listed in the M.I., there is also a list of pre 1855 names for headstones that are now missing, but not on there either.
Churches listed are Parish Church, Abbey and St Andrew Episcopal Church.
Sorry I couldn't be of help.

Thanks Beckey what about Melrose what cemeterys would be there do you know Cheers harriet ::)
-
Hi
There are three in Melrose.. one in the Abbey (the old churchyard); one in the town and one on the outskirts
I should know, been round them all!

Thanks Anne for that Harriet :D
-
There seem to be no deaths for him post SDR 1855 so died between 1851 and 1855 I presume?
-
I think so i didnt think i would find anything about him as Murdison is a hard name to find but in the 1851 cesus he was in Melrose aged78yrs he was born in Lauder so i thought he may have been with his grandson Adam Murdison who was in Melrose anything is worth a try Cheers Harriet :D
-
Haven't got a MI for Melrose so can't help there, but have just checked one that I have for Lauder but no Murdisons.
-
many thanks for all your help the only other place for the Murdisons was Earlston Glasgow and Edinburgh Harriet ;D
-
Bear in mind that in Scotland, often poor death records were kept prior to 1855, the best you might get is purchase of a mortcloth and not all of our ancestors had gravestones.
You could try contacting one of the local family history societies; hopefully, it will all get there in the end!

Many Thanks once again for all the help Cheers harriet ;D
