Hi all,
I would be very grateful if SKS with access to Griffiths could look up Hickey in Offaly.

Hiya If Only,
Griffiths Valuation of Ireland (http://www.failteromhat.com/griffiths.php) is online. Are you unable to access Griffiths? It is a free site .. registration is not required. The Valuation took place in Co. Offaly in 1854. There were 38 Hickey families in the county at that time. Would you like a list of all of them or only specific Christian names?

Hi Chris,
Thanks for the information.....didn't realise Griffith's was on line......I have now accessed it!
Many thanks.

Joe,
Just wondering how you got on with your Hickey enquiry.
I have Johanna Hickey in North Tipperary possibly Offaly.

Hi Ronnieg,
I did not have any joy on Griffiths, but I will keep trying.

Joe,
Give me the details of who you are looking for and I will do the lookup for you.
I've had a quick look and got 50 hits in Offaly (Kings Co.)

Hi - I have Hickey in my family. Michael Hickey marries Catherine O'Connor(Kate Connors) 1848 in Bulgaden, Ireland.
Ring any bells? Glendreath

Hi Glendreath,
Any ideas on where Bulgaden is?

Hi Glendreath,
Any ideas on where Bulgaden is?
RonnieG
It's in Co. Limerick, Ronnie. At least thecore.com/seanruad shows that it's in Limerick.
It's in the Barony of Coshlea, Civil Parish of Kilbreedy Major and PLU of Kilmallock.

Hi RonnieG - In the research I have done it appears it is near Kilfinnane. Griffiths Valuation shows Patrick Hickey Snr. lived in Teermore on the border of Bulgaden and Kilfinnane Parishes. Children show being baptized in Bulgaden parish. Also found information that asumes Hickeys were in the area before 1834. Michael Hickey (son) married Catherine O'Connor who lived in Bosnetstown. Fathers of both these were farmers. Glendreath
