Hi I am searching for Francis Reeves Born around 1857/58 in Shropshire Shrewsberry, also hoping to find who he married. In 1883 he and his wife went to Scotland and adopted a son also named Francis Reeves we think the child was actually a family relative. They then came back to live in Bangor Wales. I have no name for his wife at this time and would love to find them both and or their marriage. If anyone can help it would be much appreciated thanks L.C.

Hi... I cannot find any Francis Reeves in Shropshire in 1871, but came up with this for 1881.

also Montford would be classed as Shrewsbury.

Thanks Kris I can see what you mean, At the time of the 1891 census the Francis Reeves and son Francis were living in Bangor but young Francis would have been around 8 years old. I put a look up on the Bangor site but no one has answered it as yet. In 1901 there was 3 Francis reeves in Bangor but i do not have the proper info to see if any of them were the one's that I was looking for.
Francis reeves Senior would have been about 46 and Francis junior would have been 18. would love to see if there is a wife and what her name was. I know there has to be a wife as they went to Scotland and adopted Francis Junior in 1883. thanks for your help Linda.

Hi Sarah. No I haven't gotton any further with Francis Reeves, how ever i did put two lookups on the wales sight but only one answer and wrong francis reeves. If some one could look up the 1891 census for wales it would help as I know Francis Reeves and son Francis and persumably his wife were living in Bangor and thats where he was brought up. Francis Juinor thaen later married one Elizabeth Wallace but I have all that info. Its his father I am intrested in and who his wife was. if anyone can help I'm desperate. Cheeers. :'(

you have to pay to see the 1901 census but checked the names.

take a look at the 1881 census for
Jane A Williams aged 21 born Caernarvon, living at 7 Elgin St, Birkenhead, I will give you the details if you cannot find it.
Only there is a marriage registered in the district Wirral, June quarter 1884 vol 8a page 661
Francis Reeves and Jane Annie Williams
and as you probobly know Bebbington is only down the road from Birkenhead.
so there is a good possibility that the family found in 1891 is the right one but the census has got the ages wrong whats new there.
hope I am not making things worse.
