Hi Grant,
Wouldn't you believe it; there were two Niel Crawfords born in the same year (1822) in Argyll. :( :(
The first was born on 13 Oct 1822 in the parish of Kilcalmonell and Kilberry, the parents being Donald Crawford and Ann McMillan who married on 7 Feb 1808, Kilcalmonell and Kilberry.
The second was born on 27 Nov 1822 in the parish of Glassary, the parents being Alexander Crawford and Grissel Munro who were married on 24 Jan 1816 in the parish of Inverary and Glenary.
Have you any information that would help to discover which one was your ancestor ?

Hi Grant, there were also another couple of births that should be considered:
Niel Crawford, son of Niel Crwaford and Sarah McKellor born Kingarth 21.June 1818
Niel Crawford, son of Archibald Crawford and Isabel Galbreath born Kilcalmonell and Kilberry 21.April 1819
It looks like naming patterns might give you a hint as to which Niel is a possible, see:

Good hunting,

Hi,
Sorry to break in to your topic like this, but I am looking for relatives of Ian Douglas Crawford from Argyll, Schotland.
I was hoping that you could be related to him and can tell me more about him.
Ian Douglas Crawford was an airman on board of a Halifax bomber in WW2 from 77 squadron.
His plane crashed in Muiden, the Netherlands.
The parents of Crawford were, John and Jean Crawford.
