Hi Bambie
The IGI on www.familysearch.org
Has the following:
Alexander Welsh -
11 June 1802, Kilsyth
John Welsh and Janet Sinclair
Margaret Paterson -
8 January 1801, St Ninians
Walter Paterson
Isabel Forrester
1 October 1799, St Ninians
William Paterson
Margaret McArthur
These might or might not be them. If you have death dates for them and they died in Scotland after 1855, their death certificates will give their parents' names. These will be on the Scotlands People website www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk. It's pay to view but a certificate, which you can view and download, should cost 6 units (1 unit =20p) - a lot cheaper than the English equivalent and having much more information.

Hi Bambi
As a relief from those ancestors of mine that i told you about when you PMed me, I've had a look for the death cert of your Alexander. Struck lucky straight away:
4 July 1862, Rhinn of Milton, St Ninian, widower of Margaret Paterson. Aged 59.
Parents - James Welsh, tartan weaver, deceased and Janet Welsh, MS Scobie, deceased. No medical attention ???
GROS Ref - 488 79

No sign of Margaret's death and in 1861 Alexander was a widower, living Glasgow Road, Rhinns of Milton, a nail breaker, b. St Michael, with son John aged 18*, so it's highly likely that she died before 1855 :(

Just sticking my nose in here . . . . .
The area is actually Whinns of Milton. Might be less confusing at a later date.

Good morning,
My name is Graeme Welsh from Paisley. I started to research my family back in November, when I started to think about my grandfather (John smith Welsh from Callander) who died the year before I was born(died 1966).
I came across your pages while searching the internet for my relations past, and found it useful.
I am back to James Welsh/Janet Watson abt 1740 with some of your help from St.Ninians.
I welcome any help you can give me please.
Look forward to any response and help in my searches for the Welsh family history

Hello Graeme, a huge welcome to RootsChat :)
I am very sorry but bambie's emails are not working at the moment, it looks like she may have changed email address. Hopefully Brian will be able to update us.
Regards
Sarah :)
