Post by: toby on Monday 25 September 06 07:48 BST (UK)
Trying to trace the parents of Charles Fox born abt 1821 in Aston Oxfordshire. On 1841 census he was working away from home with a James Fox. Any help would be great. Trying to do this for a friend.

Hello, A long time ago I know. and a very long shot! But, if you still require information regards Charles Fox? He is my Great-Great-Grandfather. I have all his details prior and up to current date. Thanks.

EDITED you no doubt have this

When he married who did he say his father was?

If he married Jane Morby 26 January 1845 then his father is James Fox a labourer

Added
Charles was a servant when he married the same as 1841 census. witness George Morby and ? Clack.

Her father was also James and a labourer

Yes I have all that information.

Furthermore, Charles married Jane MOURBY. The daughter of James and Hannah MOURBY. The Christian name of CLACK, one of the witnesses to the wedding (26th January 1845) could very well had been JOHN. As you are aware both Charles and his brother James were "male servants" to a JOHN CLACK (Farmer) and family recorded within the 1841 census.

James married Ann Smith on the 9th November 1845 in Pillerton Hersey, Warwickshire. Ann is the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Smith.

Sadly, James died during 1860 at the age of 34yrs. Whereas Charles lived to the ripe age of 90yrs. He died 28th July 1912.

I'm unsure of your connection with Charles Fox? He is my Great-Great Grandfather. My surname is Fox. Obviously if you require further information regards the Fox Family? Then please contact me.
