There was a great story in the Belfast Telegraph dated Saturday 23rd September. It was in the Weekender Features "Observer, the Curious World of David Randall" section of the paper.
French officials are baffled by the two Madeleines. Well one actually but two women are claiming to be Madeleine Mores (http://www.washtimes.com/world/20060917-122918-7089r.htm) (81) born on 6th November 1924 at Tellancourt to Albert Mores and his wife Anna. Like here you need ID so what happened when they were asked for their IDs? It was like a game of Snap. identical birth certificates, passports, and pay slips. MMX had lived in Algiers for 40 years and returned to France in 2004. She became more than somewhat annoyed when she was refused an ID card and pension as someone (MMY) had identical details to hers. There is now a court case. Anna Mores who died in 1941 may have to be exhumed for DNA tests. The Tele correspondent feels a clerk may have given the same birth cert to sisters possibly having the same name.
