Hi,
I'm looking for information on my grandfather's family in Wexford and have hit a bit of a brick wall. My grandfather, Thomas Joseph Cullen, was born in Duncormick in 1889 and emigrated to NY in 1909. This is what little I know of his family:
Father: John Cullen (dob unknown
Mother: Johanna Murphy (dob unknown)
They were married in 1884 in Rathangan Parish. As far as I know they remained in Ireland. They may have also had a daughter named Marg but I am not certain of this.
Paternal Uncle: James Cullen (b 1869)
Emigrated to NY in about 1885. Married Margaret Crowley (b. 1871) in Ireland in 1890. My grandfather lived with his Uncle James upon his arrival and until his marriage in 1929. Margaret's brother Daniel Crowley also emigrated to NY in about 1904.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Have you tried getting a copy of the marriage certificate from the Record Office . It should hold further clues!!
do you want the address?

I did find the address and the form to do that, thanks. I've just been waiting to get a little spare change to pay for it. ;)

I was wondering if you knew if margaret Crowley had a ny siblings because my gr grandfathers name was William Crowley and his mothers maiden name was Cullen. Her name was Rosanna Cullen b.1831 lived in Dublin in 1911 at Henry Place.

Hi,
The only sibling of Margaret that I know of is her brother Daniel who came to the US in 1904. I haven't been able to find any siblings in Ireland so far. Sorry!

Don't know if you're still around.
I wonder have you narrowed the birth place of Thomas Cullen in Duncormick by getting his birth record from GRO.
I have the following civil reg. record which may be of interest...
Jane Cullen, married, 80 yrs, died Gurtens, Duncormick, 1865, Nicholas Cullen present at death...

If you want the full record, give me a shout.

Hi Rachel,
I'm still around. :-) I do have Thomas' baptism certificate and he was baptised in Rathangan. I would definitely be interested in looking at the record you have. You never know what may prove to be helpful. My e-mail is (*)

Hi Shari
The townland of Gortens is in the Civil Parish of Duncormick, within the catholic parish records of Rathangan. So maybe this Jane Cullin is relevant.
Good luck

Hi Shari, I don't know if you've found the information you were searching for but I believe I have some records for the parents of Thomas Joseph Cullen, born 10 Mar 1889 in Duncormick.
His parents John and Johanna (néé Murphy) lived in Duncormick. John died in 1911 and Johanna in 1953. They had 6 surviving children in 1911. One daughter, Johanna, married Laurence Devereux in Rathangan in 1923 and they still have decendants in the area. Let me know if you are still searching and I'll share what information I have with you.
