I'm looking for the death of Henry Becher's first wife--perhaps named Margaret Pereira--died between 1809 and 1823 at Southwell.
Thanks you! Laverdiere

Hi
The only Becher deaths on the NFHS CD are under 2 and over 68 years old. There is no Pereria or anything like it.
Henry married Elizabeth Wright at the Minster 14.5.1823

Hi
Do you have more info or was it a shot in the dark?

Hi Jane, a shot in the dark, but I thought I was aiming rather well.
Henry Becher married (presumably in the East Indies) and had two perhaps three children born there between 1800-1815--Margaret Pereira Becher, Henrietta Becher and Henry Becher. Henrietta grew up in Southwell so presumably they moved back when she was young. Her children were said to be "dark" like her so presumably she got her colouring from her mother. Since Henry didn't married again until the 1820s I assumed his wife must have died at Southwell in the interval.
Thanks, Laverdiere

Hi
I've had another search of the CDs but no more info. 20 Bechers buried in county, all in Southwell. Henry had plenty of children with Elizabeth but no information on Margaret.
Becher is an unusual name to me as is Pereira. If I come across anything I will get back to you.
