Family info is that Henry b. 1808 and family emigrated from Ireland around 1857 and eventually settled on Yorke Peninsula. Is there any info on BISA?

Cando, Hope Sashar doesn't mind me replying but I can't see any mention of the family on BISA.
However, do you have any other information about George's family - like his wife's name etc? There are some marriages of Kellys with father given as Henry George from 1870 on - but in the Adelaide district.
And this looks like it could be your Henry George Kelly's death ....25th September 1896 aged 89 no relative recorded living at Kilkerran died at Kilkerran Ref: Dal S 238/95
Kilkerran is a tiny place on Yorke Peninsula. Hopefully the following link will bring up a webpage with appeared with a search for Kelly +Kilkerran
I lived for 18 years on Yorke Peninsula and knew a Kelly family in the township in which I lived there! .....dee

Thank you for responding - yes that looks like Henry - I know he died in 1896 and he and his family lived at Kilkerran. The info I have on his wife was [May] Ann MORRIS d.15th July 1881 aged 67 years buried at Maitland. The eldest son William married Emily Anne ASHTON and they moved to the Murray Mallee. This is my husband's family and I only have very sketchy info. I would appreciate what info there is about the other chn and their marriages.
I think OH is developing an interest in family history :D

I have some details of the family in Ireland but having just mastered researching in the UK have decided to leave them for 'ron'.
It is interesting that I have been told for the last 43 years 'we are only a very small family - not many rellies'......I bet there are oodles ::)

Dee in the last post the William Ashton Kelly is my husband's grandfather and the name Ashton has been taken by the eldest male in subsequent generations. Our first grandchild was born on Dec 2, with the name Zac Ashton.

Yes the family skeletons are coming out of the cupboard. My late mother in law, bless her, said there were a couple of cases of cousins marrying as well as widowers marrying sister in laws. :o They obviously didn't travel enough. ;D ;D
Dee I feel a bit guilty about you doing all this transcribing for me - I wouldn't ask but I don't live near a library - a mobile library travels 200 kms to us once a week and only stops 20kms from our property for one hour. I had absolutely no idea that there were this many ancestors - some of the lines have obviously died out.

Cando - I also live a good way from the city - in a small coastal township - and don't drive, plus being limited by rheumatoid arthritis. So I always appreciate it when someone can help me. And my belief is that what goes around comes around - I help you - someone else helps me - you help someone else.
I came across an error in one of my postings - typed 18.. instead of 19..! Apologies for that.

An interesting aside - Amongst my late mother-in-laws possessions, there was a photo on glass that no-one could identify. Yesterday I dismantled it and found it was Fanny WARD, August 1861, Drinkstone. On the 1861 Census I found Fanny with son, John T and Henry W. at Drinkstone, Suffolk. She stated she was married but husband not there on census night. Eventually found George [father stated on both the WARD marriages to KELLY girls in Aus] nearby with his father John Thomas WARD. Wonderful ;D

It isn't all that important :) He married an older woman - perhaps he 'upped' his age to make her feel more comfortable ;D Perhaps if you could check on the date of marriage as it would give me Annie's birth year - she was born in Ireland so can't check source.

There were other KELLY families, not related, at Kilkerran/Maitland.
The only person with Evelyn as a given name in my husband's family tree was Evelyn Stanbury KELLY 1894-1986 dau of Henry George KELLY 1857-1937 and and his first wife, Edith Grace STANBURY 1861-1898.
Evelyn married George Wyndham AYLIFFE 1883-1922 and there were three children Donald George 1917-1959; Brenda May BAVISTOCK 1920-1993 and John 1921-1921.

Yes that is my family, Brenda Mary Bavistock was my mother.
It is great to find someone related to that side of my family. I am still trying to find out how many of the descendants of the family are alive and their past history.
