Hi,
William Cushion joined up for ww1 in 1916 as a 21 year old .
Born Crystal Brook SA .Nok  was his Mother, Helina.
There are other Cushions on this site who may well be descendants and relatives of yours.
I am sure others with SA indexes will be able to give you the information you are looking for,  Meantime this digitised record in a nice read.

Hi Michael
On a distant twig on my wife's branch of the family tree I have a Tranter or two. I must say they fit into the category of 'hangers on' if you know what I mean, they got there by accident.  However, they may be connected to you.

James TRANTER & Georgianna Maria COX (no other details) had a son Charles Edwin TRANTER b 21/9/1889 at Knowsley, Victoria.   Charles went on to marry Catherine Ann MANTON who links to my wife's HOPKINS line.

Cheers

Bob

On page 4 of the service record it says he had a gun shot wound to the eye - he was in France.  The date is 31 August 1818.   The place abbreviation looks to be D'K Hill - would that be Dunkirk Hill?   He was then sent back to England.

this is the log in page of Record Search - quicker way in.  Just log in as a guest.

Michael,
I have found the death records for some of your Cushions. Are you interested? (Don't want to type them out if you already have the information.)
