Does anybody know how to find out how long somebody was in the poor house in Elgin in Morayshire. Her name was Constance Clark, and her son William Dean Clark. born 1902

Hi Chris

Thanks but still cannot find records of inmates

Hi Chris
Sadly you won't find poor relief records on line. The closest you could find on line would be census info in 1901 of Constance. I think you are looking for details of Constance's poor relief application details. This info will only be available if somebody can do a look up for you from the actual records or via the contact details I gave on the link.
For example, there is an entry on the 1901 census which may relate to your Constance:
1901 CLARK CONSTANCE age 18 @ GARMOUTH/MORAY 144/02 002/02 002

If you look on http://libindx.moray.gov.uk/mainmenu.asp as suggested you will see that Constance Clark applied to the Elgin Parish Board in 1902, and that she was in the poor house until at least 1907.
Applications on behalf of William Dean Clark were made in 1902 and 1903.
You can get copies of these records from Moray Local Heritage Centre. Cotact details are on the web site.
