Hi i have put some of the above Census taken by the landlord of the time into an word file.
I could not read all of it.
Surnames mentioned in 1834 census are: Fitzgerald, McAuliffe, Roach/Roche,Fowley(Foley?), Sullivan, Dennehy, Keefe, O'Callahan, Murphy, Leary, Dunleigh, McNamara, Corbit, Connell, Cronin, Connor, Guiney, Cremin, Riordan, Daly/Daley,Sweeney,Loughnane,Reen,Duggan,Moynihan,Mahony,Buckley
Some of the surnames's spellings vary I also have a few records for the 1830 census of Kingswilliamtown.
Anyone who would like me to e-mail this to them feel free to ask

Hi,
I have read your message and I was wondering if you could send me a copy of the census records you have mentioned. I am tracing back on Murphys in my family who were farmers in the Ballydesmond area in 1850 (Griffith's Valuation), so your census should help me go back further.
My email is (*).
Thanks, John.

I would also be interested in this Census, I'm looking for Cliffords (or in-laws) in the area.

I hope you are checking this thread and site after all these years! I looks like you posted this in 07. I am searching Greaney/Greany. They were in Kingswilliamstown for sure in 1898..but I'd find it helpful to have record of who was there earlier as I continue to research.

hi artsyamymom,
I never received a reply on this thread so don't hold your breath!
Have you checked out "Griffiths Valuation" records and "Tithe applotment" books for your family?here are some links. Also the church records for the ballydesmond/kingwilliamstown are are on line, they are actually located at Boherbue church as in the 1830's there was no church in Ballydesmond. Good luck! PS if you need more help just post back to this thread!

I got the census sent to me....? Your info about there being no church is helpful, that makes sense for a John Sullivan and Johanna Connors I am researching now. A marriage record of their daughter states "of Ballinahulla" for a Margaret Sullivan. However I am finding what I believe to be the baptism records and marriage record of parents to be Broherbue of Ulla. Any knowledge more knowledge you have of Ballinahulla/Ulla/Broherbue....I love to hear. THX

I'm afraid I don't know anything about Ballinahulla. I have noticed that if you search for "Ballydesmond , Ireland" on google maps, when you zoom in to a certain level you can see the townland names, "Ballinahulla" is about SW of Ballydesmond. Also keep in mind mispellings of placenames when searching the church records, they could be listed as "Ballynahulla" or even without the 'h' (Ballinaulla) etc.

I realise that this post is old but if anybody could send me on the 1834 or 1830 census records for Ballydesmond/Kingwilliamstown I would really appreciate it! My email is (*)
