Title: Link: Devonshire Silver Mines
Post by: Christopher on Wednesday 07 March 07 16:58 GMT (UK)
I have not done a great deal of research into the Peake surname but the small amount I have done indicates that some of the people with this name were tin miners who came from the Peak district in Derbyshire to work in the Royal Silver Mines in Devon. The Crown brought miners to Devon from several parts of Britain. The links below are about the histroy of the mines. I hope that they prove interesting members who have found ancestors who worked in the Silver Mines.
