I would appreciate any information on Elizabeth Matthra, wife of George Featherstone 1854, also any imediate relatives.

Hi & Welcome to rootschat,
Is 1854 there marriage date or George's birth date ?
Regards
Alison.

Hi Alison and thankyou. 1854 was George Featherstones birthdate, but any more information will be quite welcome. I believe he was born at Carlton juxta Snaith. and moved to the Stanley cum Wrenthorpe area near Wakefield. It's info on his wife Elizabeth Matthra which is proving to be elusive.

Well thanks Joe, you've been extremely helpful and i very much appreciate your searching and help. You see George and Elizabeth was my great grandparents and were living when i was born. I have a couple of photos of them but she's been really elusive to trace, and as you say maybe because of the spelling of the name. and thanks for the tip on daughter-in-law and step-daughter. :)

I am searching for my Gt. Grandfather, George Featherstone, whose occupation was listed as an iron works manager on his son's wedding certificate 1915. George is listed as "deceased" The son who married in 1915 in Fulham was Herbert Featherstone, occupation prison warder. Herbert gives his age as 35 when he married Ethel Rosina Treagusi n 1915.
Any help would be much appreciated - thanks.
