Can anyone help me with the marriage of William Crawford and Maria Cringan, they were born 1796.I dont know what part of Ireland they were born or who their parents were. They both left for Scotland either before they married or after.I cant find their marriage in Scotland so i am presuming they must have married in Ireland.Any help greatley appreciated.Anne. ???

Shirley, thankyou for your offer i would like the certificate if you dont mind.I am going to have to put a census request out because i thought William was born Ireland. The problem now is their oldest child Thomas was born 1825 Maybole which means that William was only 15 when he was born,do you think this is possible, and Maria would have been only 14.Their daughter Agnes was born 1837 Maybole and married David Kennedy at Trinity Church Ayrshire in 1870 which means she was 33.I am now wondering if i have the right birth date for her.I will post a census request and see what happens.Thankyou again Anne. :)

Hi Anne here is the record from the 1881 census. Yes they could have married quite young in those days, and there was a lot of traffic between Scotland & ireland.
