Hi
i found an old post on a family tree site stating there was an article in the Dalesman about the Tallons of Whittington/Kirkby Lonsdale they were a Blacksmith family along with Tailors.
I was wondering if anyone had access to this article..ive tried the Dalesman website and there is no search archive.
Thanks
Ady

There is a reference (you may already have seen it?) to a John Tallon of Barbon blacksmith buying a property on 20 Feb 1802 on the a2a site. Also some other references to Tallans of Kirkby Lonsdale/Whittington on the same site.

My great grandma was a Tallon (Rebecca) she married Thomas Forrest and had 7 children. They lived in Whittington (actually Old Town - they ran the PO and general store) ... I recognised the reference to Hutton Roof as well ...

My ancestors were hodgsons, they were blacksmiths in Hutton roof, Lupton and Kirkby Lonsdale. I keep finding references to the Talons. I believe the Talons had the Hutton roof or Lupton smithy after the hodgsons left. Search google for 'the musings of Gerald. Whittington' he has posted several articles relating to the talon/Hodgson blacksmith feud. Very funny some of them.
