Title: Surname interest - MORRIS
Post by: Vetsy on Monday 09 April 07 12:12 BST (UK)
I am interested to hear from anyone who has info on the Morris family who resided in Dog Lane, Bewdley in the late 1800s/early 1900s.  My great, great Grandfather was Sidney/Sydney Morris who married Matilda Lock(e) and who had 6 children that I know of..

Would also appreciate if anyone could give me info on Mary Evans who married George Morris (son of Sidney and Matilda) as I can find no reference to their marriage.  George was born in 1899.  They had several children but the only one I can confirm is William, my grandfather, who was born in 1925.  He had 2 older siblings who died young so am assuming that George and Mary married in the early 1920s.   My grandfather says his Granny Evans lived up Sion Hill or at the Horsefair and he actually went to live with her for a period of time to look after her, however this is all the info I have and would love to find out more if possible.   The Evans were supposedly Welsh but I don't know how far back that went.

From the complete BMD images at http://www.ancestry.com/search/rectype/vital/freebmd/bmd.aspx

George S MORRIS m. Mary E EVANS Dec Q 1922, Kidderminster 6c 162.

You could search the birth images from 1922 on qtr by qtr to find MORRIS births in Kidderminster with mother EVANS - a bit time-consuming wih such a common name, but worth it in the end!
