I am looking for the family of David Walters b. in 1837- 1838 in Llanfihangel Abercowin. I have found him later with wife and family in Meidrim, but don't know his parents. Can anyone please find them for me on the early census records.
Thanks, Sharon

I have checked Meidrim Parish Church Baptisms John Walters wasnt baptised there. Also have Carmarthenshire Marriages on Disc John and Rosamond didnt marry in Carmarthenshire before registration in 1837.So would send to Carmarthenshire registry office for the marriage cert 1837-1839 Rosamond not that popular a name so you might hit lucky without the full ref nos.

Thank you so much. Mu family will be delighted to have a new generation of ancestors. The name Rosamund was also used for one of David's daughters.

Welsh Lady, I found Castell-y-waun, it is just east of St. Clears.
Is there a chance you can find John and Rosamund at Castell-y-waun in 1871 as well?
In 1881, John is still alive, so I don't know why Rosamund is listed as Head without him in 1861.
Also, another request: David's wife was Sarah Jones, born 1837-1838 in Conwil Elfet. Does she show up there with a family in 1841-51-61?

Looks like John was working away or visiting away in 1861 and 1871 census will look if i can find him and will look for Sarah Jones do you know her Fathers name?

Possible in 1851
H0107 Piece 2474 Folio 118 Page 17
Llwyncelyn uchfa Abernant,Carms
Dan Jones,Head,51,Freeholder of Lane,Trealach,Carms
Anna? Jones,Wife,44,Abernant,Carms
Sarah Jones,Dau,12,Conwil
Henry Jones,Son,7,Abernant,Carms
Youd need Sarah and Davids marriage cert to confirm Sarahs Father name to see if above family is correct.

Sharon,
I was standing at his grave in a Whitland Chapel yesterday. On the headstone is "In Loving Memory of David Walters, late of Trevaughan Farm, Whitland, who died April 12, 1907, aged 68 years. Also his wife Sarah, who died Sept. 16, 1928, aged 89 years. Also their daughter Caroline, who died Feb.22, 1958, aged 77 years. At Rest." That is an exact copy of everything that is on the headstone.
David Walters was my Great Grandfather, so maybe you and I are 2nd cousins,!!. I am told that you will be over here in Whitland in a week or two and I would be happy to meet up with you (together with my neice Penny) to get 'caught up' after quite a few generations.!!
Previous attachment attempt failed (too large, even though jpegs ?)
Best regards,
Nigel L. Walters

Possibly your family were congregationalist and would be christened at Bethlehem Independent Congregational chapel at St Clears - is on LDS nonconformist records.
