Have you put your surnames in the Rootschat Surname Interest Table yet?  http://www.rootschat.com/surname/

It is an excellent program created by another Rootschat member Berlin Bob.

Hi Elaine
four years on dont know if your still a member, but here is my Langford querie.

in 1743 Susan Hickman has a son Richard (illigitimate)
in 1746 marries Richard Langford both in Frodesley.
the I have a Richard Hickman married a Mary Edwards in Cleobury Mortimer in 1768,first child called Susanna. one of their other children,my gggrandfather Richard Hickman born 1775 christened 1777.

my problem is establishing if the Richard Hickman who married Mary Edwards was Susans son,if it is I can link the line back to 1600,s
has anyone any ideah how I can go about this,

Joyce

My mother's maiden name was Roles, we have them traced back to Manchester where we believe they moved to from Whixall, this is where my trail went cold, could definitely be linked ?

Morning Cliff.
Very new to this site and unsure how to proceed. On my side, Charles Henry Roles, born 1830, is the furthest I can truly say is accurate, any further back would be a leap of faith, but if you can validate this,  it would be appreciated.
Regards.
Gavin.

My website www.clwydsurnames.org.uk has many Langford entries showing in which parishes in Clwyd the name occurs.  Also shown are some miscellaneous entries from other Counties and some alternative spellings.

Do you have any dates for your William ?

My Roles relatives were living in Hulme, Ancoats Chorlton and Barton I.
