I'm looking for Thomas Gameson born 1843 Beaufort. I believe he is living in Monmouthshire at the time of the 1851/1861 census. His father is Thomas. Any help greatly appreciated.
Many thanks

Sorry I have to post this duplication, just because I don't agree with the "Beanport" birthplace - not really got a clue about James though there does seem to be an apostrophe after either the L or S at the beginning of the word. I have spelt the places as they have been written on the image, not from the index.

Thank you Mary A, and Karenlee. This has helped out a lot. Many thanks.

There were several men called Thomas Gameson, in Merthyr Tydfil then (mainly) Monmouthshire - largely but not only brickmakers. The first two were born in 1800 and 1805 and may have been cousins - I have not been able to press to an earlier generation. I have pages and pages on the Gamesons, as my grandmother was one of them.

Looking at the image, James is definitely b Sirhowy. The "apostrophe" is the dot on the i. There's a load more b Sirhowy lower down the page
Think this is them in 1861, hamlet of Llawrplwyf, Mynyddislwyn. Address 9 Cwm Nant yr Odyn. John Gamson aged 30 is living in no 3
Thomas Gamson 54 Head b Llangatog, Breconshire. Coal miner
Hannah Gamson 47 b Merthyr
William Gamson 28 b Trevethin Monmouthshire, coal miner
Thomas Gamson 19 b Llangatog, Breconshire. (can't decipher occupation)
Henery Gamson 9 b Bedwellty
James Craduck Gamson 7 b Bedwellty
Catherine Isabela Gamson 7 Granddaughter b Bedwellty
