The 1851 Census Data searchable by Surname, Occupation or by Census area.

The information is a little slow at first but there are over 500,000 enties  :)

Hi Sarah - I can't make this work  :'(   Can't get any further than the Home Page.  Is it me or is it no longer working?

It doesn't seem to be working - I've found a couple of mine on there in the past but they aren't showing up now.

Here's an alternative but you will need a programme to unzip the files.

just been on first link given by sarah  works fine really good site easy to use  no rellies but enjioyed visit  sandie

Just had another go at Sarah's link and it's working fine - maybe it was a temp blip!  I'm off to have a rummage; found two of mine in Pams suggested link so am well pleased - Thanks to Pam and Sarah :D

Tried this, this am and link not working I got the word Forbidden instead!!!!

It worked for me, but no joy, I've got my lot for 1851. But I was hoping that I could get a decent copy of the Welsh ones, not the peculiar Ancestry 'born abt' often wrong dates, and in alphabetical order where 2 year old child is at top of the list and father at bottom because of name....weird!
Unfortunately they were not on there. Great dissapointment. Good site.
