Hello,
This ties in with her age, place of birth.
Thanks, I have something to go on now.
However, I can't find Reginald in the 1881 census at all ???. Very strange.
Kind regards,
David

Hi David
I am working on the principle that your Ada is
Ada Emily Cannings born Wandsworth 3rd Quarter of 1894
The Best (only really) option I have found is living at 21 Bull Road, South West Ham, London
Father Reginald Cannings born abt 1853), Mother Esther born abt. 1850.
Siblings Henry (1883), Helen (1889), Louisa (1891), Eva (1893), Percy (1889), May (1890)
Information was found using Ancestry.com and the 1901 Census Copyright of the National Archives

Hi Llegs am resting, thi takes my mind off it.
Hi David they are on the 1881 but have lied about their ages
Henry is given as 21 and Esther is 20 living at 25 Hatfield Place, Southwark Christchurch, London
he is still a milkman (Dairyman) and place of birth is Market Lavington Wiltshire
ALan

1881 census
22 Hatfield Place, Christchurch, Southwark
Reginald Canning, 21, Dairlyman, born Market Harrington, Wiltshire
Esther Canning, 20, born London
RG11/515 102 25
I think that perhaps you couldn't find him because he gave his name as Canning rather than Cannings.

Hehehe you beat me this time Alan!!!

Hello Alan,
What do you think of the Ancestry.com site for pre 1837 ?
Do they show father, birth places etc for christenings ?
Many thanks,

Just had a nosey for Esther Measures on the 1871 and 1861, I cannot find her on the 1871 and the closest match on the 1861 is 13 month old Ester Measures born in Islington residing with her Grandmother, Susan Gray (60 yrs old), and uncle, John Gray, in Upwell Isle ??? Cambridgeshire. No sign of Mummy and Daddy Measures.....
But I have found the marriage of a Mr William Aaron Measures to a Miss Elizabeth Gray in Islington in the March quarter of 1859....
I'll have a look for Susan on earlier censuses and see if she has a daughter called Elizabeth

Sorry David
They were all born in Market Lavinton, Devizes, Wilts except the Mother Eliza who is listed as N.K. Wales (not very helpful)
Henry was a Plumber Glazier and Painter, Eliza was a School Mistress, and their eldest son Henry A followed his fathers footsteps as a Plumber

Going to have to leave it now, good luck
