I have a John Davies in my family tree can anyone please help me [the birth date area is a bit of guess work] his wife was Elizabeth [Philpot] Davies. They had four children baptised in Worthen, Shropshire/Montgomeryshire Border village.
Richard Davies 1784, Martha Davies 1789, Edward Davies 1791, Annie Davies 1797. It's very probable they were corn millers or shopkeepers in Worthen/Brockton, as were the family were some years later. Any help would be greatfully appreciated. Eric.

Hi Eric,
Not what you want - but I have found Edward Davies (50) and his wife Elizabeth and family in the 1841 census at Walten Mill, Worthen - Miller.
Do you want full details?
Cheers
Keith

Hi Keith
Many thanks, this Edward Davies was the son of John Davies, Iam not sure if he took over the milling business from his father John Davies but I beleive the family may have had a number of mills, Brockton could be another, I beleuve there were three mills on this stretch of river in the 17/1800's.
Regards, Eric.
