Title: Whitworths in Greatham
Post by: Maggie 52 on Saturday 16 June 07 21:00 BST (UK)
I am trying to find the name of the mother of Amelia Whitworth, and her date of death. Amelia  was born 1860 in Greatham. Her father was called William and he was born in Lincolnshire. Amelia's mother had died by 1871.
Many thanks, Margaret.

1851 shows other children, the older ones born in Lincolnshire. Would you like the details? HO107/2384 446 42

Likely death for Mary:
Mary Whitworth

There's a possible marriage in Sep 1841 Boston - William Whitworth to possibly Mary Ruddom

Many thanks Tati, I never realised my great grandmother came from such a large family, though she obviously continued the family tradition - going on to have 11 children herself!
Best wishes, Margaret.

Thanks for those records hpool- the Greatham ones tie in well with the census info. so far and provide some new offspring- shame the twin boys did not survive though. It was interesting to see the Royal Navy reference- do coastguards count as R.N. or did he have navy service?
Best wishes, Margaret

Saltholme ( or Salt Holme) was/is just a few 100 yrds due north of Port Clarence ( on north bank of River Tees) and just east of Haverton Hill.

Maggie

Sorry I have only just seen this so you may have masses more info gathered over the past 10 years!
I have quite a lot of info on them if you are still searching. Amelia was sister to my 3Gt Grandad James who seems to have had a major fall out with his dad over his wife!

Regards
ian
