Regards,
Ian.

Hi Ian

I'd be curious to know whether your Daniel might have had an older brother with children ...

I'm searching for my 2xgt grandfather Charles Glendower Powell, b. abt 1830, who emigrated (family lore says he "jumped ship") to Australia around 1848 ... he married twice, and (these names may hold family relevance?) had eleven children; - Charles Glendower, Emily Jane, Ambrose Carter (died young), Edith, Elizabeth, Marion Llewellyn (I didn't know Llewellyn could be a female name?), George Joyner (died young), Harriet Wynn, George Gwynn, Ambrose Llewellyn (my gt grandfather), and Esther Jenkins

Cheers
Deb

Hello Deb,
Where did your Powell's originate from?
Powell is a very common surname in Breconshire.

Regards,
Ian.

Hi Ian,

That's exactly what I'm trying to figure out  :-\

All we have on gt-gt-grandad is his name and approximate year of birth ... I've found a "C Powell" arrival in Australia, in 1848, but no guarantees that this is him  :'(

I mentioned the names of his children, in hopes that they might be "family" names ... thanks to another Rootschatter I do have a couple of possibilities to research further, but I've been trying to find Charles G for so long now that I'm clutching at straws lol.  If I ever find someone with a "missing" uncle/brother/son who fits the bill - even if it turns out it's not the right one, - I think I'll do handstands

Cheers
Deb
Title: Flockhart/James
Post by: Eddo on Monday 11 May 09 08:02 BST (UK)
Hi,
I've only recently started compiling our family tree (or attempting to anyway), and am seeking information on the following families.
William Flockhart (b.UK approx July 1919 Edinburgh)
Evelyn Joyce James (b. 10/12/1922 Suffolk, UK).
I'm not sure when they migrated to Australia, however I do know that he served during the war with and English Regiment.
William & Evelyn married and had three children, 2 boys+ 1 girl.
William had a sister Flora, who sadly recently passed away.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eddo

Hello again Deb D,
I was just re-reading some of the information circulating around the Charles G's. and noticed that you were also searching for Tatham.
My Uncle William married Beatric Tatham in 1924 at Petersham, Sydney, Australia.
He was the first born of Ambrose Llewellyn & Amelia May Powell - my grandparents.
They had two sons William and Kenneth, and lived in Leichhardt (I think) for many years. Uncle William raised pigeons and canaries very successfully, and kept my grandmother in brilliant whistlers all her life.
Hope this may be another lead for you.
Regards
Eddo

Title: Re: Andrew Jack Carson (chief eagle-eye)

Hello, Ian
My name is Lavella Phillips, Andrew Jack Carson was my grandfather. His daughter, Jacqueline lives with me. I have many photos of him and may be of help. I am not clear on some of your information. It appears as though, when people are looking up information concerning Jack Carson the actor, they mix up information because there were two Jack Carson s from the same time period. If I can be of help, please let me know.I am also interested in getting information concerning my grandfather and my mother. Because of the nature of his career, he traveled a lot. so there are many blanks in his history. I was unaware he was ever married to any one other than my grandmother which was Barryl Desima Shultz Carson. However, because my mother has memory loss, she has trouble remembering details. She never spoke of her mother when I a child. Apparently, she was a prima ballerina. Also can not be verified. He also married a women by the name of Barbra who lived with him for many years prior to his passing. He married her one month prior to his death.

We may be cousins?!

I have been doing some research into my grandmother's history part of which is 'what happened to her daughter Jaqueline?'  My grandmother was born in India in 1908, daughter of Wilfred & Myrtle Hutchins. In 1925 she ran apparently away from an arranged marriage and joined a circus and during that time had a child called Jaqueline with the owner of 'Carsons American Circus'? My grandmother's name was Decima Beryl Hutchins, known to us as Diana, it seems both she and her sister had a habit of changing their names!  It seems my grandmother had a very colourful history we don't know the full story, she would not tell!  It seems by pure chance I found your post regarding Jack Carson and there is too strong a link for it not to be my grandmother as another post I found the other day also stacks up.  Your mother has a half sister, Tessa, my mother and a half brother, Don.
