Hi Longberry,
I also Have a lot of Rosies in Caithness, I have just checked and but I dont have a Walter of a Malcom, however somewhere in all my Genealogy papers there is a Rosie database,(part of) which was sent to me by a chap named Ian Atchison, he has a huge data base on Rosies, I will look out his contact detais and let you have them and will also check the list he sent me and check for the two names you are intrested in

Frank,
For all the collossal help I've been given since joining this site, its very little (look at Aberdeenshire and my threads as a sample).
Also, this stuff only really works when we help each other, right?
I happen to know Caithness, but my Rosie is Fraserburgh.
Cheers,
James.
PS. I believe Stroma is now uninhabited bar sheep and seabirds so nobody there to ask!

Could not agree more. The folks on this site seem to bend over backwards to help and I certainly appreciate it.
Iwas born in Wick and yes Stroma is now only inhabited by the Farmer who owns it. The pople who used to live there still visit it.I have always promised myself that I would visit Stroma some day but any time I go to Wick something seems to get in the way. Maybe someday soon???
always nice to hear from you

And there was a suggestion that Stroma was 'in the way' -
it interrupted the currents betweenCaithness and Orkney (a science thing).
