I can't find the marriage on LDS.
Carmarthen. St Peter in 1851/1852.. first child born 1852
David Davies c1833 a Mariner...father Thomas Davies
Eliza Jones c1830...sorry no fathers name.
I would appreciate any help but I do know with these names it's difficult....I have already ordered the wrong certificate once.

Thank for taking the trouble to find all that information Pam, it's does look like the correct marriage.
But the problem is:
The child I am looking for Thomas Jones Davies b1852, the details are taken from his marriage cert in 1874....his father stated as David Davies a Mariner (deceased).
The only couple that fit are the ones you found.
On the 1861 census RG9 9/4/39 F47 P18, he is with his Grandmother Elizabeth Jones b1806, after this he is a lodger with various people until he marries my ggrandmother Mary Davies in 1874.
Elizabeth Jones b1806 appears to be the mother of Eliza Jones b1830, who then married David Davies in 1856.
Leads me to think they weren't married when Thomas Jones Davies was born or he gave his fathers name as David Davies because she married a David Davies later on.
I think I will ask some kind person to do a look up of the Parish Record for his birth.

To up-date information for anyone interested;
Birth certificate received proves that:
Thomas Jones Davies b1852 St Peter Street, Carmarthen was the son of David Davies (Mariner) & Eliza Jones.
That narrows down their marriage date for me. ;D
