Another request now that my grandfather's marriage seems to have been found. California Divorce Index 1966-1984.
Donald Perry WRIGHT (age 64) m.(30 July 1966 Kern Co., California) Olivia Hayhurst (age 58). She left him shortly after wedding I'm told and wondering if there's any sign of a divorce.
Found Olivia Hayhurst b.14 Dec.1907 d.18 Nov.1997 Bakersfield, Kern, California in Social Security Death Index. Full name Olivia Agnes, mother- Barlow, father- Wilson. If this is above bride it looks as though she was Wilson and had married Hayhurst. Possibly reverted to former name?

This looks like them:
Donald WRIGHT b 1901 and Olivia WILSON b 1907, who had married in July 1966, listed under "preliminary" (presumably the first stage of divorce proceedings) in November 1966. Theirs is a "Type 2" (I don't know what this means but most cases on the page are "Type 1").
Then there is a heading Dissolution CG Case Number under which is written 70 NC 006176 B, and a heading State File # under which is written 089872.

Thanks Anna that's brilliant. In just a few hours today I found more (with help here) than I was able to in years.
Date for divoce proceedings confirms family story about wife leaving shortly after marriage.
Found her death in California records: Olivia Agnes Hayhurst born 14 Dec.1907 died 18 Nov.1997 Bakersfield, mother- Barlow, father- Wilson.
Seems her maiden name was Wilson and she reverted to Hayhurst (name of previous husband?) after divorce.
