Title: Lyon family 1930's 1940's Gainsborough
Post by: scruffypup on Sunday 29 July 07 20:42 BST (UK)
I know my Mum's Lyon ancestors came from Skillington in Lincs,  before moving on to Huddersfield and settling down in Leeds but while my Mum was alive she told me as a child she remembered regularly visiting some elderly relatives in Gainsborough, in the 1930's and 40's  who were in their 70's or older  putting them around the  the 1860's era.  I've never come across any of the Lyon family moving to Gainsborough area by the 1901 census and haven't found any deaths to match the Lyon family in the 1940's,50's era to fit in with Mum's relatives.  If anyone knows of any Lyon families that fit the description I'd love to know.

Hi

Still searching for  the Gainsborough Lyon family through the archives. I did notice that there is a newspaper advertisement regarding farming implements for sale in 1938 by Charles (Chas) B Lyon living in Trinity Street Gainsborough.  Does anyone have any info on Charles?
