I have Edward Glenton born 1909 Grimsby died 1990 Grimsby married to Ivy Simmonds in 1939 Grimsby. I need to find Edwards parents, can anyone help me please? Thanks in advance

Hi Jean, yes i do suspect Joseph Scholes Glenton could b his father, how do i find out for sure? Is there anywhere online i can check marriage cert for Edward Glenton to see parents listed?

The only way l know of is to buy Edward's birth certificate it will have his mother's maiden name on it. This way youy are sure of the right parents.
Most of us have to buy certs to further our research.

Hi Dawn
From my research I believe Joseph Scholes Glenton was my 2nd great uncle. He was my great grandmother Emma's brother. I know very little about him - think I may have found a naval record for him but that's about it unfortunately. Have you got much info on him?

According to the GRO site Edward's mother's maiden name was Fleming.

Joseph was born 1882 and reg Hull, Mothers mn Scholes
I agree the naval record is likely him.
He appears to have died in Wales;

Do you happen to know what the relationship link was between Dawn and Joseph?

Sorry I dont know Dawns relationship to Joseph but I presume she is related to him through his Son Edward 1909.
